In order to upgrade the catering offer of the BLANK-Group, the company's canteen was redesigned in November. "The aim of the renovation was to expand the lunch offer in the canteen. For the workforce we offer the possibility of ordering a varied lunch menu every day," explains Alexander Lenert, managing director at BLANK. Before the Covid 19 pandemic this offer was actively used. Unfortunately, however, demand did not increase to previous levels after the reopening. "Lunch is subsidized by the company and is a great way to support employees who want to spend their lunch break at the company. Therefore, it is important for us to be able to offer this service also in the future. However, this is only possible if the number of orders increases again." As a first step, the canteen has now been provided with a new floor, new furniture and a coat of paint. In a second step, starting in January, an ordering system via the intranet is planned so that employees can conveniently order lunch via their smartphone or PC. Juliane Blank, who is also responsible for digitization in her management role, hopes that this will further increase demand: "We are confident that the new measures will be well accepted and that we will soon be able to sit together again at lunchtime in a fully occupied canteen for a shared break."
