On 27th November BLANK welcomed 50 guests on the occasion of the roofing ceremony of the new building plant 4. On a base area of 3,150 square meters an intelligent automated production line will be installed for the mechanical processing and assembly. Besides the latest technical equipment the new building will also provide social rooms, changing rooms, shower rooms and offices for around 300 employees.
The new production line is the start into Industry 4.0 at FEINGUSS BLANK. The new line may contain later on completely integrated collaborative production systems which can react in real time to modified requirements and circumstances in customers inquiries, in the supply network and in the enterprise. “These new structural conditions render the mechanical processing and component assembly competitive in the global market and shall secure the jobs in the long term”, explains Mr. Mulder, divisional director of mechanical processing and component assembly, “when planning the hall we focused on a modern, innovative working environment and on short distances which optimize the work processes.”
After Mr. Augustin, head of the resources scheduling at BLANK, had welcomed the guests, Dr. Wolfgang Blank, interim managing director explained that he was happy about the accident-free construction process and the successful collaboration with all involved enterprises.
This was followed by short speeches of the mayor, the architect and the general construction contractor. The parish curate blessed the new production hall.
To thank the workers of the construction enterprise they were given Knipex pliers as present, which contain investment casting parts. The celebration was completed with a mutual meal.
