The BLANK-Group looks back on challenging months that were initially characterised by a massive decrease in orders and later by a steep rise in demand. "Getting through these challenging times well is only possible through the close, partnership-based cooperation with our loyal customers," emphasizes Rainer Buehler, head of Business Development at BLANK-Group, "We wanted to thank one special customer in particular with a creative gift for the trust they have placed in us - the Oberalp company."
Among other things, this company group produces skis and ski boots - with integrated investment casting from BLANK. A close partnership has existed since 2008 and a total of 25 different models have been realised together until today. The investment castings are installed in the ski binding and in the toe & heel area of the ski boot. They ensure a solid and secure fixation of the boot in the ski touring binding and thus on the entire ski. The theme of the shoe was also taken up again in the design of the gift. "From many small Oberalp investment casting parts, our employees designed a cast ski boot à la Iron Man." When asked if it can be worn like the original, Rainer Buehler answers with a smile: "Of course it is possible to put on the shoe, but we are talking about a total weight of 3.30 kg. Accordingly, it is somewhat difficult to move around.”
"Shortly before the completion of the two millionth Front Insert investment casting, the Iron Man shoe was handed over which caused great enthusiasm at Oberalp," reports Lothar Lohner, sales manager at BLANK, "We wish to continue the good cooperation with Oberalp and hope that with this gesture we were able to say "thank you" for our customer's trust."
