Every month the Leichtbau BW GmbH (lightweight construction) awards one especially progressive solution in the lightweight sector. FEINGUSS BLANK GmbH was able to acquire this popular prize with the Digital Twin by FEINGUSS BLANK.
By means of the development services it is possible to recognize improvement potentials even before an investment casting part is produced! This saves much time and also costs.
The Digital Twin by FEINGUSS BLANK is therefore the central element for sustainable customer benefits. The application of most modern techniques makes it possible to simulate essential manufacturing steps and so to recognize weak points and eliminate them.
Possible simulations (among others):
- material simulation
- FEM calculation
- casting and solidification simulation
- topology optimization
However, at BLANK, scenarios cannot be simulated and checked only at the monitor. Additive procedures also offer the possibility to recreate each single manufacturing step already before ordering a cost-intensive tool and sample production– for ex. through 3D-print. This way questions can be cleared regarding optimal surface quality for the intended use or which of the many possible processing variations is the most suitable, this results again in saving costs and time for the customer.
In the course of the technology day at Leichtbau BW GmbH, management director Dr. Seeliger handed over the ThinKing Certificate for May 2017 to our developer Mr. Wetzel.
