From 23rd to 27th April 2018 innovative enterprises from all over the world presented their products and developments at the Hannover Fair – so did FEINGUSS BLANK.
This year’s key topic “Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate” should especially emphasize the factor communication and exchange in the industry as well as the intelligent networking and collaboration of humans and machines. FEINGUSS BLANK picked up this topic with the keyword “SMART SERVICE”. We focus on four services using most modern techniques to improve investment casting parts and work out together with the customer optimal solutions for individual applications.
Showing a wheel carrier especially developed for a racing car, our sales team demonstrated which enormous saving potentials are possible through simulation and lightweight construction. By means of a Digital Twin it is possible to calculate the stress areas of the geometry and how the form of a part can be possibly changed to increase the benefit and optimize the material usage.
The different cast simulation states were a real eyecatcher and the highlight of this year’s exhibition stand. During the Integrated Lightweight Plaza we gave a presentation on the wheel carrier and the topic “lightweight in investment casting”. The large audience was impressed by the introduced possibilities in lightweight construction and vividly discussed about it after the presentation.
Functional integration which is possible through investment casting was also this year a further important topic. The integration of several mechanically produced parts into one single investment casting part is often more efficient and cost saving than a fully machined part. Previous projects could benefit of cost savings up to 50%!
To complete the SMART SERVICE package, FEINGUSS BLANK introduced the BLANK-ID. This integrated codemark is either already cast or lasered on during later production steps. Using this technology a complete traceability is possible even years after a part has been installed. This added value for the customer was awarded with the Innovator of the Year Award by the Investment Casting Institute.
