Exhaust gas turbocharger for cars
Wastegate systems must withstand high loads in the turbocharger of passenger cars/trucks. By using heat-resistant materials and applying the principles of topology optimization, we improve investment castings to your advantage! By optimising the design of the component and exploiting the possibilities of investment casting, it has already been possible to save 30 per cent of material per wastegate system in the past. In addition to cost savings, this weight reduction of the castings also represents an increase in performance.

3D scanner
The housing for a high-quality 3D scanner posed a major challenge for investment casting and subsequent downstream processes, especially with regard to numerous bores and undercuts. Thanks to the smart advantages of the casting process, it was possible to produce a mould close to the near-finished contour, which meant that time-consuming reworking could be avoided. A further advantage arose from the functional integration, i. e. several individual parts produced in alternative manufacturing processes could be replaced by one single investment casting part.
