Water retarder, truck
The challenge with this component lay in the geometry and the dimensional requirements. The aim was to achieve the lowest possible piece weight for the required functional diameter. Due to the high demands on dimensional accuracy, very tight manufacturing tolerances must be maintained. In addition, the blades of the wheel should be as thin as possible in order to achieve the highest possible degree of efficiency. Due to the high requirements, the investment casting process offers considerable advantages compared to full machining, not least with regard to the cost factor.
